Facilities Maintenance Associate
ABOUT US: Isles is one of the most innovative and successful nonprofit organizations in the region. We operate 3 offices / commercial properties and 64 residential units in Trenton, NJ, and a Social Profit Center in Hamilton, NJ. We are looking for a hard-working, self-motivated individual to join our Facilities Maintenance Team. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring that our properties are safe, clean, functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces for our employees, our tenants and our visitors.

WHO WILL BE
SUCCESSFUL:
- Organizing and balancing many different priorities and responsibilities
- Implementing building and grounds maintenance and repairs in a timely and cost-effective fashion to the highest level of cleanliness, functionality, and safety
- Responding calmly and effectively to address unpredictable and sometimes urgent maintenance and repair needs
- Working with and/or supervising contractors
- Interacting effectively with municipal and state regulatory agencies, tenants, and vendors
- Accurately maintaining records of facilities work and building / equipment inspections
- Performing all work in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Brief exposure to prevalent weather conditions on a frequent basis
- Standing, walking, lifting, twisting, bending on a frequent basis
- Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
- Occasional need to respond to off-hours emergency situations
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Knowledge,
Skills and Experiencev
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum, one year experience with building and grounds maintenance
- Minimum, one year of experience with tenant and vendor relations
- Basic English oral, written and communication skills; Spanish language skills a plus
- Working knowledge of hand tools and industrial cleaning equipment
- Basic repair skills and experience in maintenance functions
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to recommend and/or make required repairs
- Cultural competency in working with people of diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work independently and collegially in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment
- Comfort using technology including a desktop computer, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook
- Possession and maintenance of a valid driver’s license in good standing
Position Details: Non-exempt, 40 hour/week
position, flexible schedule. Salary: $40,000/yr
