General Description

World Insurance Associates, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Small Business Client Services professional to lead our regional EB Small Business team, bringing strong client retention through a winning service experience. As a key part of the Service Leadership Team, this individual will influence and lead the ongoing development of best practice approaches to help small businesses offer affordable and effective employee benefits. This individual will manage the day to day needs of the Employee Benefits Small Business Unit, including balancing of workloads, assignment of accounts and improving workflow efficiencies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to SBU book growth and retention, including account rounding on existing clients, selling, and closing new business through internal and external referrals.
  • Build client relationships and perform proactive day to day client service on assigned book of business.
  • Lead and direct the EB small business team to deliver exceptional service to our small business clients, managing performance objectives and book loads and building a cohesive and adaptable team of experts.
  • Build relationships with carriers and vendors, coordinating updates and guiding the team on small business market products and solutions and negotiating the best possible renewal outcomes for clients.
  • Partner with EB Placement Leader to strategize on vendors to maximize client solutions and revenue.
  • Assess current internal client service and external carrier processes to recommend and implement technology solutions and/or streamlined workflows to achieve targeted capacity models.
  • Create shared service team models to deliver select client support services such as eligibility management and/or BenAdmin support within defined SBU scope of services.
  • Regularly meet with SBU team members, guiding and mentoring them to quickly address client needs.
  • Facilitate training and monitor adherence to SOP’s, quality standards, system requirements and key performance metrics.
  • Regularly communicate SBU initiatives and results to EB leadership and the EB Practice.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 – 8 years of small group employee benefits experience within the brokerage industry, with strong knowledge of all product lines and federal/state legislative and compliance requirements.
  • Prior leadership experience managing a team with proven ability to coach/mentor others for success
  • Advanced knowledge of EB small group benefits and product offerings within the multi-state Northeast region/marketplace
  • Ability to sell independently and confidently, close and service small business clients referred through internal cross-sell or external inquiries
  • Strong understanding of client service in small business, with experience deploying various technologies to streamline processes and bring efficiencies
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage large volumes efficiently, coordinating workflows, resources and balancing multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build rapport, influence and collaborate with others and build strong relationships
  • Advanced skills in Excel, PPT and EB BenAdmin systems; BenefitPoint experience a plus.
  • High attention to detail with strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related program or equivalent education and/or experience in insurance
  • Life/Health insurance license or the ability to obtain immediately required.
  • Ability to travel regionally as needed (15-25%)
