Job Summary

Inventory Associates (IAs) are responsible for executing accurate and compliant inventory controls in both front and back of house. From receiving and labeling to stocking, merchandising, and cycle counting, the IA ensures that all product is properly prepared and tracked to meet both regulatory standards and internal goals. This role plays a vital part in supporting the guest experience by maintaining a clean, stocked, and compliant sales environment. Inventory Associates report directly to the Inventory Supervisor and collaborate closely with the Retail team.


Key Responsibilities


1. Customer Relationship

  • Package cannabis material with proper labeling and compliance standards

  • Maintain accurate reconciliation of packaged weights, counts, and remaining inventory

  • Deploy packaged items to the sales floor and support merchandising tasks

  • Provide excellent customer service when supporting Retail Associates

  • Support occasional sales transactions when needed

  • Keep workstations, sales areas, bathrooms, and communal spaces clean and organized


2. Learning & Collaboration

  • Recognize and celebrate team accomplishments using established communication methods

  • Stay current on product knowledge, compliance updates, and company policies

  • Assist with onboarding and peer training as assigned by leadership

  • Promote a positive, solutions-focused team culture

  • Manage time effectively to meet goals without sacrificing quality or compliance


3. Processes & Technology

  • Use digital systems including POS, METRC, spreadsheets, and task-tracking tools

  • Apply compliance and barcode labels with accuracy

  • Manage UID tag placement and package closures for tracking compliance

  • Maintain and update paper and digital inventory logs

  • Support repackaging and organization of stock for accurate storage and sales

  • Verify product accuracy and confirm correct placement and pricing on the sales floor

  • Communicate with Inventory Supervisors for task assignments and support


4. Financial Stewardship

  • Participate in daily intakes, deployments, stocking, and merchandising

  • Conduct ongoing cycle counts and periodic full inventory reconciliations

  • Report inventory discrepancies to leadership promptly

  • Accurately enter inventory data and maintain real-time integrity across systems

  • Handle all products with care to minimize shrinkage and waste


5. Innovation

  • Suggest improvements to packaging, workflow, or labeling processes that enhance efficiency or reduce error

  • Share observations about recurring product or system issues with Inventory Supervisors for evaluation

  • Offer input on how to improve organization of inventory spaces or streamline deployment to the sales floor

  • Participate in testing new packaging materials, software tools, or merchandising techniques as directed

  • Support a culture of continuous improvement by asking thoughtful questions and proposing solutions when appropriate

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum 1 year experience in cannabis packaging and inventory strongly preferred

  • Prior experience in a production or stockroom environment is desirable

  • Familiarity with OLCC and METRC regulations (or willingness to learn)

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions

  • Comfortable with repetitive tasks and able to maintain consistency over long work periods

  • Solid understanding of cannabis product types and packaging requirements

  • Proficient in spreadsheets, POS systems, and digital inventory tracking

  • Ability to work independently and with a team, demonstrating initiative and accountability

  • Strong communication and time management skills


Special Demands:

  • Ability to lift heavy objects. Transport, carry and handle inventory materials delicately.

  • Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and navigating stairs. Capable of movement throughout any location.

  • Performance of repetitive tasks.

  • Travel between locations for shifts, shift coverage, business support and training.
