Accounts Payable Manager - Edison, NJ

Position Summary

  • This position is responsible for managing the centralized accounts payable department activities, ensuring vendors are appropriately paid, and expenses are properly approved.


Position Responsibilities

  • Extensive experience with accounts payable for an entity with over 100 locations
  • Review Payments; for accurate GL categorization; to ensure within budget
  • And ensuring appropriate approvals were obtained
  • Manage vendor set up and consolidation
  • Manage timely payments of vendors
  • Oversee month end close, review account reconciliations, and ensure expense accruals are made when necessary
  • Manage expense reimbursement and American Express card usage, and eventual posting of expense
  • Work with management and vendors to ensure discrepancies are resolved as soon as possible
  • Manage 1099 issuance process at year end
  • Institute new policies and procedures when necessary
  • Identify procedures to streamline accounts payable function
  • Manage and train staff; sets goals and expectations
  • Assist management with requested reports and analytics


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of experience in accounts payable and management required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Thorough understanding of accounts payable function, including expense accruals and month end close process
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask
