Administrative & Program Assistant - Johnson Center for Learning and Impact
ABOUT US: Founded in
1981, Isles is a nationally recognized nonprofit community development and
environmental organization with the mission to foster more self-reliant
families in healthy, sustainable communities.
Each year, Isles reaches thousands of central New Jersey residents with
opportunities for at-risk youth job training, affordable housing development,
financial literacy training, homeownership counseling, community gardening,
environmental health and education, community organizing, and regional
planning.
To invest in
the empowerment of community-based approaches and organizations in both Trenton
and beyond, Isles launched the Johnson Center for Learning & Impact
in 2022. We designed the center to be a vehicle through which Isles can advance
knowledge, best practices, and resources; strengthen public policies; build
stronger data and research capacity within Isles; and prepare the next
generation of community leaders.

team consists of 100 employees, plus a corps of volunteers and an engaged Board
of Directors.
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Adminsitrarive
and Program Assistant is an integral member of the Johnson Center Team and a
confidential assistant to the Managing Director. This position provides administrative support
across Johnson activities and coordinates Isles wide Lunch and Learns (two
times/month).

colleagues, members of the public and private sectors, and community-based
stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø Administrative
Support to Johnson Center for Learning and Impact
-
Coordinates and administratively supports
internal JC wide meetings and events
-
Coordinates, in conjunction with MD and
Directors, meetings with external stakeholders
-
Oversees JC office space and ensures staff have
access to materials and technology to meet needs
Ø Confidential
Assistant to Managing Director
-
Administratively supports MD
-
Accompanies MD to internal and external meeting
to ensure documentation and provide continuity for stakeholders

Supports the accurate implementation of MD
calendar

Works with Data Specialist to ensure timely
fiscal requisitions

Responsible for managing use of MD Corporate
Credit Card
Ø Lunch
and Learns
-
Coordinates, in collaboration with Department of
People and Culture, twice monthly Isles wide lunch and learns
-
Manage twice per month Lunch and Learns during
the academic year and weekly lunch and learns during the summer internship
period

Conduct staff needs assessment to determine the
annual schedule for lunch and learns
-
Solicit and communicate with speakers for Lunch
and Learns
-
Communicate Lunch and Learns to appropriate
internal and external groups
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Knowledge,
Skills and Experience

High school diploma or general education degree
(GED)
-
HR, clerical or administrative experience
-
Ability to work independently and collegially in
a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment

Excellent organizational skills and attention to
detail

Strong communication skills including good
listening and speaking skills, and the ability to organize written information
efficiently

Ability to communicate effectively regarding
sensitive matters

Comfort using technology including a desktop
computer, AV equipment, and a large volume of email messages

Must be approachable, friendly and
self-confident and have the ability to respond appropriately and accurately in
different and sometimes stressful situations

Position Details: 40 hour/week
position, flexible schedule. Salary range: $45,000-$55,000
